Member Societies

Wales

The names of the counties under which the societies are listed are mainly the traditional administrative counties (also referred to as the "historic" counties) that existed prior to the 1974 Local Government re-organisation. Some of the societies, however, reflect the newer administrative county areas that were then created (e.g. Dyfed FHS covers the original traditional counties of Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire). Comprehensive information on each of these counties and its archives is available in GENUKI.

Most of the following Family History Societies are also members of the Association of Family History Societies of Wales.
