Free Podcasts from The National Archives
Those of us fortunate enough to be able to visit The National Archives on weekdays can attend regular talks on archive sources and related subjects. Many are directly connected to family history. The topics covered range from Tracing Marriages to Coroners’ Inquests and from Professional Dynasties in 19th century England to Records of The Court of Common Pleas.
However, you do not need to attend Kew in person to hear the talks. The National Archives is making recordings available online in a series of podcasts. Some of these include a British Sign Language or other video presentation. They can all be accessed by following this link - http://media.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ Accompanying documents and transcriptions will soon be available in some cases.
The growing collection of podcasts is available free of charge. There are even opportunities for listeners to post their comments.
You can either access podcasts on a one-by-one basis or you can subscribe to have them delivered directly to your computer.
