London Family History Centre

The London Family History Centre has a temporary home in part of the first floor of The National Archives at Kew. It is possible that it may remain there until the end of 2014 but the Centre is searching for a permanent location and so may have moved elsewhere before then.

The present arrangements present great benefits for family historians, as we can access records held by The National Archive, its excellent library and the Family History Centre’s services – all under one roof.

The Family History Centre offers both online and microfilm resources. Many films are held in stock at Kew and can be requested and seen after a short wait. If the film you want to consult is not in stock, you can place an order for a copy to be obtained from Utah for you to study at the Centre; there is a modest fee for this.

You can see further details  of the Centre, including the entire film catalogue and details of which of the films are stored at Kew, by visiting the Family History Centre’s website.
