Birmingham Library hits the scene
The Library of Birmingham at Centenary Square, Broad Street has opened its doors, in a brand new edifice of distinctive design.
Visitors are presented with a choice of one million books, 200 public access computers, as well as many other state-of-the-art facilities. The main Library is open seven days a week and also offers a range of online services.
The Library building is home to the Wolfson Centre for Archival Research, which provides a range of material of particular interest to family historians and is open from Mondays to Saturdays. Advance booking is necessary to see some of the items in that collection.
Before your first visit, it will also help to explore the overview on the Birmingham Library website.
